The Anarchists win!

Are you watching the footage from Yugoslavia? It's pretty exciting.

An absolute refusal by the people to accept a continuation of tyranny. They did it right; voted for their man, and then waited to see if Milosevic would honor election results.

When he didn't, that was their TSHTF. They took to the streets, and imposed their will, and now it is a new day in Yugoslavia.

Don't give up, and don't slow down.

They have reminded us what is possible.

Way it goes in the nations of the former Eastern Bloc. When living under tyranny, real tyranny, is within living memory, the realization of what's worth fighting for isn't anachronistic theory. Freedom is a struggle, and has to be paid for with some pretty hard currency.

Fat Dumb Lazy Americans, however...

I'm enjoying watching the American press spin the role the Russians played in convincing Milosevich to step aside.

Especially after the debate in which Dubya was smacked upside the head by a condescending Algore for suggesting Russian involvement.

I conclude that either Gore doesn't know what's going on in his own government, or that Bush's knowledge & instincts concerning foreign policy are superior!

LOL.

It has been proven time and again, the average people will put up with a lot of crap, but it IS possible to reach the limit. When the crap crosses the line, Joe and Jane Average become freedom fighters.

Bring me the head of Slobodan Milosevic!

Ehheh.

Given it much thought?

If anyone was rioting to end the sanctions - then they were rioting on behalf of the influence of foreign powers.

If they were rioting based on socialism, they were rioting that their pensions (most of the country is on the take from govt.) and social programs weren't paying up.

Touchy-feely stuff aside, the Yugoslavia that would satisfy the majority there is your worst nightmare of socialist America.

Battler.

Battler, my worst nightmare in America would be a scenario where we permitted the government to ignore our will.

The Yugoslavs did not permit that.

True, their idea of freedom and our ideas of freedom differ.

But it is always fun to watch someone hit a home run, whether it be in the World Series, or in the Little League park down the street.
