Well, I used to be right there with you thinking the same thing, until I found out about the .500 Phantom. Now the .500 Phantom upper from Teppo-Jutsu will *definitely* be my next firearm acquistion. Does everything the .50 Beowulf does, with appropriate handloads, AND a lot more should you want it to. But you need an AR10 lower or DPMS .308 lower.

Click on .500 Phantom - the ghost from the machine - You can make it subsonic and suppress it, or go full blown for more than .50 alaskan ballistics, or anywhere in between!

For anyone looking for the ultimate in gas operated shoulder fired power, the .500 Phantom should fit the bill. Formed and headstamped brass is available from Garber Supply Company, reloading dies are available from CH 4 D, and bolt action rifles in this caliber can be ordered through Sportsmans Guns.

I've

I don't personally own one, but they seem to have a few uhhh quirks. Some extraction issues. Load them too hot and...

I have a 50 Beowulf. It has been flawless thru about 200 rnds. It attaches to any milspec lower. It is a devistating round. I thought about selling it and getting a 308, as ammo is very expensive.
