I was coming back to work from lunch break and happened to catch this blurb from Rush Limbaugh -- so, before you flame or anything, keep in mind I'm just reporting what was said...

Supposedly a call was made to a poll worker in the Palm Beach area concerning the discarded votes. According to the worker, the *were* discards -- having been replaced by fresh ballots to those folks who realized they double-punched and wanted new ballots.

Now...whether or not this is true is hard to tell. I certainly can't substantiate it, and there is nothing I've seen on the web to support it. But, I did think it was interesting nontheless.

Heck, if this is true, it pretty much takes all the wind out of Gore's sails with his being the great savior of the poor "disenfranchised" voters...

I hope it's true and they have nothing left to stand on but the popular vote (and he may not keep that very long either...)

My mom just called, and told me the same thing. According to her, Madeline Albright made the call to the campaign worker. Good to have her on our side. To bad we'll probably never hear anything about this from the media.

Yeah, yeah, it was Mary Matlin. I can't even think straight anymore. This has got to end.

The phone call was made by Mary Madelyn, wife of James Carville, I believe. Source is Rush Limbaugh talk radio show.
 
Mary Matlin. My liberal friend (she heard this news too) corrected me on the spelling.

I don't believe this. If this were true it would be reported by other media sources sympathetic to G.W.B.. I want this to be true, but where is the evidence?
