OK. Another minor mystery revolver. A friend and I were shopping and ran across what we thought was a Colt Detective Special 3rd. The first tip-off that it was NOT a Colt was the hammer/trigger were bright finished. The typical Colt catch was on the left side on the recoil shield. The barrel was shrouded, marked 38 SPECIAL on the left side and MAUSER on the right side. 6 shots, fixed sights, RB, THe dealer said this was sold through the Mauser company but, made in Italy by Gamba where it was sold as the Trident revolver. He put it at 20 years old. Does anybody know any further details on Gamba? I wonder if it is shootable?

You mean this?

Is very much alive and well.

"I wonder if it is shootable?"

It should be unless it was abused in some way.
Gamba is a quality mfg better known for their shotguns.

That is the revolver. I did go to a local pawn shop and found several shotguns of that companies manufacture. Tamara, apparently a USA(R) officer had been stationed in West Germany. His estate is beginning to show up in the local shops. My friend picked a Mauser 32 ACP dated 1920 on the slide.
