Thanks for the support during these interesting times

Fellow TFLers, I just wanted to thank you for providing me a place to discuss my favorite topic when I wasn't working here in Iraq. I have received a lot of moral support from many of you and I appreciate it deeply. I will be leaving Baghdad for Kuwait within the next two days, so I might not be able to access this site until I get home. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks before I left. Talk to you in a month or so when I get the Internet turned back on in my apartment.

You have the thanks and praise from most of our nation for your service there. I think we are doing the correct thing in the middle east but only history will prove it the correct or wrong course. I hold with the theory that the best defense is a good offense and so say again - thank you. Best of luck to you and your comrades in your endeavors.

Thanks to your service to this nation another nation will rise and slowly become a welcome nation of democratic values and purpose. My hat is off to you and your brothers and sisters of the armed forces of the United States of America.

Hope your trip home is safe and eventless.........

If your ever on leave or find yourself in Michigan let me know. We have some Great Lakes for great fishing, great woodlands for great hunting and a host of other fine things to do here..... I would be happy to show you where and when and assist you if you like.
 
Are you using "interesting times" in the same way that I understand the Chinese use the term, as with "May you live in interesting times"?

After two weeks in Kuwait, twenty-five hours on a plane, and four days of waiting for the cable guy to come hook up my internet connection later, I'm back!! Thanks for all the replies. I was stunned by the reception we got at Division headquarters upon our return. This was my fifth deployment and we have never had a homecoming celebration as big as the one we had this time. I guess a year apart brings out the best in people sometimes. We used to hold reunion ceremonies in a gym, but there wasn't a gym big enough to fit all those people. I will be at another one tonight to welcome home some friends from another company who should be over Ohio right now. Thanks again and God bless America!
