Thanks for closing down the Fonda thread.

Mr. Coinneach, sir. You should have shut Meat-hooks post down about the time you called Fonda a female dog protitute. Heeeh!

Meat-hook, I have no idea why you have a handle called meat-hook...and don't really care. What I do care is your wacky stance on the Fonda issue. You are intitled to your opinion like everyone else on this board. But don't think for a moment you are justified in your opinion...as neither are my own this very second. Please do us a favor and write your opinions to Ms Fonda, I'm sure she'll be glad to hear from you.
And the next time you are in those special VA wards we talked about...tell the fellows what you did...I'm sure it will boost their morale. Get real, dude...you ain't.

James

James, I shut down the Fonda thread solely for length. Knock off the insults to Meat Hook, or I'll shut down this one for a different reason. Clear?

OK, Coinneach. I guess calling Fonda a female dog prostitute was not insulting?

You can spike my cannon for good if you want to, but the American Veteran doesn't need to be puked on by wishy washy dumb comments.

Adios everybody, this is probably the kiss off for me. Shoot safe and shoot straight. ;)

Sure it was. The difference is that Fonda isn't a TFL member. If she were, I'd probably not post my own opinions of her, to wit "evil beldame" and "traitorous whore."

All:

Your account here is safe as long as you play by the rules. Keep it in mind.

Meat-Hook, if you're monitoring: I think the basic premise of your post is, Fonda has come over to our side, so let's exploit her, is that correct?

Conneach,

HOWLING LAUGHTER! :) :) :)

But,

What's the difference between insulting someone ON the forum as opposed to insulting someone OFF the forum?

I've encountered that before, and I'll be damned if I can understand it.

Mike, offline (that is, not on Rich's server), you're of course free to insult anyone in any way you want. Here, though, you'd be using Rich's resources to do something he doesn't want done with them. Kinda like Uncle Sugar and our money. ;)

.357SIG:

We do it everyday here on the TFL, me included.

Peace be with you Meat-hook, its just that veterans do not like the Fondas of the world nor do we want to hear delusional talk about her coming over to our side, it doesn't matter how much money she's got, she is a detestible poor bitch lacking in human decency and not worth saving. Sorry if this doesn't fit in your designs of forgiveness that are indeed admirable traits but a bit misguided in this case. And again...peace be with you.

Jim

No no no, Coineach. I didn't word my question well, for that I apologize.

Your message indicating that Jane Fonda isn't a TFL member seems to imply that if someone does not post to TFL, they are fair game to be insulted as people see fit, i.e., your calling Fonda an "evil whore" in the original thread.

However, if that person does post to TFL, you can't insult them.

That's what I'm questioning, and that is what I have encountered before. That seems to be an incredibly stupid double standard.

Mike, let me see if I can help.

Jane Fonda is a public figure. It's a postion she has worked her entire life for. As a Public Figure, she has gone out of her way to get praised, fawned over, admired and boot-licked by her Public.

With the good, comes the bad: if you want to hang yourself out to be adored, you'd better expect to catch a few insults. If you can't hack the insults, stay out of the lime-light.

Plus, The Firing Line is Rich's house. As the Host, Head Booze-slinger and HMFIC, Rich has declared (as is his right) that Guests (that's you Members) will not insult one another under his roof. He has further declared that any Publicity-seeking types who are not members are fair game.

So, Jane Fonda, Bill Clinton, Janet Reno, Sarah Brady, et al., are fair game until they become Members. Then you can't make obnoxious references about them for the three seconds it takes for Rich to kick them back off. :D

Hope that helps.

Dennis, or whoever may be in charge, I respect all of the mod and admin staff, but consetering the fondas past record I see no more harm in calling her those things then calling stallin a commie.

With carefull thought- as best I can

As LawDog stated, “...Guests (that's you Members) will not insult one another
under his (Rich’s) roof.”

To insult a member personally, there’s e-mail, snail mail, telephone, etc.

There’s even that old outmoded method of settling disputes - face to face.

One part of our effort is to unite gun owners. Debate
and discussion are fine, but the down-and-dirty stuff must be elsewhere.

If the Clintons, Schumer, Kennedys, Feinstein, Boxer, Gore, Turner, Hanoi Jane, etc. want to become members, they will abide by our rules or be bounced. Should they join TFL, we will treat them with respect as we shove their concepts of gun control all the way up to their respective transverse colons.

I believe LawDog explained the issue quite well.
