Thank you TARGA

A month or so ago a forum member, TARGA, posted about a sale of FN FNS 40 S&W's with night sights at Palmetto State Armory. I had just bought a Springfield Armory EMP 40 brand new, but since pistols are increasing in value much faster than my nest egg portfolio, I decided to take advantage of the fantastic deal here. My original intent was to buy the FN and just stick it in the gun safe unfired. Yeah, well it came in and you know how that goes.

So far this gun has outperformed the SA in every category. No jams with any reload I feed it. Plenty accurate (attached was 13 shots at 16 yards shooting fairly rapidly). I am going to seriously look into buying one of these in a compact model.

The EMP cost almost 3X what this FN did. I had to send it back to get the trigger smoothed out. Got it back and they changed the front sight but forgot to glue in the little retaining roll pin and I almost lost the sight. Awaiting new roll pin to fix. Night sights on FN are much clearer in the daytime and much brighter at night. Also, I've been struggling mightily trying to get this EMP to shoot lead flat nose reloads but the FN will digest them and anything else I feed it.

Anyway, thanks TARGA for putting me onto this great deal. I'm really, really liking this FN FNS 40. If only it was a little smaller!

Your very welcome, I am still tempted to get one myself, actually have it in my online cart for order as we speak.

Love the target by the way....:)

I don't think you'd regret buying it!

:DYep, I'm pretty fortunate. I've retired on 35 acres in the country in Texas where owning guns is expected, not berated. Literally from my back porch I can shoot pistols at 3 standing targets like the one in the pic. 15 steel plates and 3 AR500 swingers. I can shoot rifles out to 200 yards and I have nine 3D archery targets set up out to 50 yards too. The only problem is that it's so easy to shoot I do too much of it!
