OK. We're gonna try this again. We've deleted the original thread because it was turning into a discussion. This is not a discussion thread. It is a vote, pure and simple.
Well, we seem to be having some difficulty in getting our point across. We have no problem with criticism of Government or LEO. We are not interested, however, in trolling posts challenging our Members to commit to violence preparation; often these posts come from individuals with a completely different agenda than that of firearms owners, gathered together for information exchange.
The best way to control trolls is to ignore them. The best way to ignore them is to delete their comments....no one likes to work on a long speech, announcing their patriotism and courage, only to have it disappear. Think about this carefully, as we have in past used the lock feature rather than the delete. While such posts amount to only a few a week, this may be construed as a further act of "censorship", even though such recourse is available to us in the Policies that all Members have agreed to.
I'm asking our Members to vote on the following question; no discussion or qualifications, just a "Yes" or "No". Comments may be addressed to me by email. We'll stand behind the Members' decision.
Question:
"Should the Moderators of TFL begin to simply delete posts which we find are in violation of our Policies?"
