Texas - Hunting with Suppressors LEGALIZED

According to an email I got within the last hour from the NRA-ILA, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission by unanimous vote has made it legal for hunting game animals in Texas using suppressed firearms.

Some days, it's good to live in The Lone Star State! :D

When isn't it good to live in the republic of Texas?

They ought to make it make it mandatory on those 7 mags, even on an 800 acre deer lease I could hear the neighbors 7 mag roll through the land. (:

I can't find the new regulations on the TPW website yet. And the NRA notice/email does not state when the regulation takes effect.

I'm glad they did it. I see the benefits of it in that they reduce noise pollution to the surrounding area. I myself cannot afford to buy suppressors, pay the fee to the feds, ect.

Also I would not benefit from using one as they do no good shooting hogs or other herd animals. They rest still spook after the first shot, and even if they made guns completely silent, which they don't, the slap made by the bullet hitting an adjacent hog spooks the whole herd.

I've looked at some sites that sell them and it seems that their diameter would interfere with sight picture of both iron sites and scopes, requiring then to be raised.

Like I said, I'm happy it passed but they are of no use to me.

twobit, hunting hogs with suppressed firearms has been legal for some time now. They aren't considered "Game Animals" by TPW, they're a nuisance animal.

Now to have Texas LEO's that will do their job by doing the background check and signing off on the required paperwork.
