The Texas Dog Hunters Association Had their annual hunt and here is a post I ripped from a hog doggin' board...
TDHA had it's annual tournament this weekend. All harvested hogs are donated to Hunter's Harvest to feed the less fortunate. Last year over 28,000 pounds of meat was donated...don't have the total for this years yet. Anyhow, here's the three that we submitted.

Here are some numbers...
total weight, 29,176 lbs our goal was 30,000 so we almost got there!! Way to go everyone!!!
# of hogs 209
# of TDHA Teams entered was 20 teams
# of Non TDHA Teams entered was 48 teams
# of teams to weight in was 39 teams
That equates to 140 pound average weight and each of the 39 teams that entered hogs was 748#s. I think all the hogs were weighed gutted so that would certainly up the numbers a good bit. I will verify with the fella that posted.

Ah, Halletsville! Lotsa good "Dutchies" -- Germans -- there, with polka music on the local FM. Czech polka music, as well. My Fertsch forebears settled there, way back. An umpteenth great-uncle, Captain Frels, was at San Jacinto.

The area is west of Houston a hundred miles or so, south of Schulenberg on I-10.

My father's folks settled south of Cuero on the Guadalupe. During the record flood of 1998, my cousin trapped 34 hogs right at his house, driven up from the bottoms by the flood.

Collector, I should have a new curr dog or 3 soon. When I do, I will make it known. I invite folks to go with us behind the dogs for a NO GUNS hunt. Tied up or stuck don't matter to us much. No charge as we ain't pro guides just a fun hunt. No permit or license required either...
