testing p99 compared to a g19

i just purchased a p99 and would be in my hands next week.
i plan on shooting the p99 and the G19 and make my unbiased
comparison. I'.m not a TRIBAL guy who thinks either is the greatest in the world . though my preference is still the 1911 format.but i'm always open to newer and better things, i will let you all know about my honest opinion about these two
well made handguns. My question is has anybody done this comparison in this forum?
Has anybody shot both. side by side and have a fair and unbiased comparison?TRIBALISM not needed . i'm not interested in the" my dad can beat your dad up mentality." no flame intended. just fair answer please.
thank you .

I have, since I own both. My personal opinion is a preference for the P-99. Imagine that. The ergonomics are great, my P-99 is more accurate (I don't see how a pistol can be any more accurate), and I like the backstraps, I do wish the trigger was SAO but I still prefer the P-99 to the G-19. I shoot it in the SA mode almost exclusively.

I still like the Glock, it has it's uses and I trust it. But I just love the P-99. So does the majority of those I let shoot it.

I think the ergonomics have a lot to do with preferences. It is about the most comfortable polymer pistol I have used, or own.

That tribal junk is just a figment of someones imigination. A way look down on us and try to make themselves feel superior and smarter.

It is perfectly normal to show loyalty to anything you like, and there is nothing wrong with it. It is called being human.

I have a P99, I *had* a Glock 19.
I prefer the P99 to the Glock 19, by a considerable margin.
here is how they "stack up"
reliability P99 (my G19 locked down during a tactical pistol class)
ergonomics P99
accuracy P99
looks/style P99
magazine capacity P99
magazine cost G19
accessories/holsters G19
For me the P99 wins in most categories.
:D
I traded the G19 for a Sig P225, now this is a sweet shooting 9mm. I thought I might miss the Glock 19, but i'm convinced now that the P225 is a better pistol.

guys,
thanks for your input. it's cool to have some discussion without all the negative
thinking. i assume that you guys are not new to these model guns . i will be looking forward
to my evaluation. :) :) :)

Never having shot a G19 I can only compare the P99 to my Glock 34. The P99 has a better trigger, ergonomics go to the P99. Being an old fart w/glasses the long slide of the 34 helps accuracy, but the P99 is very accurate. Unfortunately no one can beat Glocks customer service and availability of parts. The P99 has taken "perfection" one step further. No tribalism here!

Yea, my fellow GT'ers will probably throw me out in the cold.
:D
I've owned a Glock 17 since '93 or so and it is one of my favorites, but the G19, and G26, just never really felt right to me, for me the P99 is just a "better mousetrap"
I do agree that Glock has probably the best customer service of any firearms mfg., and parts and accessories are everywhere for the Glocks, and my 17 has been 100% reliable for over 20,000 rounds. But when comparing the G19 and a P99, the P99 is just more "bang for the buck".
IMHO of course.
:D

Re: size comparison

P99 (9mm): 7" x 5.37" x 1.14" (180mm x 135mm x 29mm)
G19: 6.85" x 5" x 1.18" (174mm x 127mm x 30mm)

The .40 Auto version of the P99 is 4mm (0.15") longer than the 9mm version.
