Testing 250gr REAL Bullet - Water Jug Test

It's a good thing all those modern gun shooters haven't caught on to how powerful B/p rifles are. Would be hard pressed to find a spot to squat for a quiet look see if they did.

I see you use a button wad under the REAL. Did doing garner a bit better accuracy out of that Traditions 50?

I know that in my Lyman Deerstalker (blued model with deeper grooves) requires a felt wad. People had mentioned this so I punched some out prior to range day but tried a 320 grn .50 cal REAL in the 1:48” twist without one and found that at 50 yds it had keyholed and was about a foot left and a bit low. The next two with a wad were just under the bull and nearly touching, and flying true. I bought a mold for it after that.

Where do you find felt to make wads from? I cast REAL bullets for .45 caliber 200gr, 50 caliber 320gr and 54 380gr. Never noticed I needed a wad and never had any bullets tumble but this might be fun to try.
