Tested my first 10mm reloads today

15 yds with my glock 20 sf; formula: 180 gr xtp driven by 800x with ladder charges from 7.3 to 10.10 grs.

My very first go with 10 mm and they were a bit tricky to load due to "delicacy" of crimp and very tight chamber tolerance in my fire-dragon barrel. The tricky part is making sure I minimized case bulge at the base of the bullet while loading.

Anyways, my results were less than spectacular, I'm still trying to get used to the pistol--I shot off a bench with my wrists on a bag. Most of the groups were around 5 to 7 inches--but I seemed to hit the sweet spot at 8.4 grs which shot a group of 1.79"; the next group at 9 grs opened up to 4".

I'm near-sighted so I have problems keeping the front sight in focus and that might explain some of the inaccuracy. On the other hand--I'm wondering if it's really possible a pistol could show that much sensitivity to a charge weight?? I mean I would sorta expect something like that in a rifle long barrel with so-called exhaust harmonics--but is it possible that a short pistol barrel exhibit the same kind of "preference?" Or is it more likely that I just happened to get lucky that one time?
