This is the business end of my Responder 617F on my Benelli M1 Super 90 Tactical, with optional P61 lamp assembly.

Here's a question on the -F Responders: when putting it into a foam case, the best way to avoid setting the case on fire <g> (or at least seriously melting things) is to unscrew the light, yes? Otherwise, I will be the foam will trip the momentary switch. Looks like the best/only argument for the -G models? Still prefer the -F...no "accidental safeties" with this one, as long as you don't start a fire storing/stowing it.

Hmm, just noticed the P61. Put one of those into a new M2 light. Yeoowwww! Of course, the life of the batteries is pretty short...

Heh, I guess none of us can ignore anything. :)

I have found that unscrewing the lamp head on my Responder is insufficient to totally deactivate the light. Same thing with partially unscrewing the battery housing -- if you jiggle it the right way, the light can still shine. My solution, albeit a cumbersome one, has been to remove the battery entirely.
