Volquartsen

I converted my Ruger MK 1 installing an LLV complete upper assembly and trigger and action job.

I use this gun in competition and routinely out score S&W model 41, and many other high end custom jobs.

Volquartsen products are top notch as is their customer service and turn around time.

I stock quite a number of the Volquartsen aftermarket parts for the Ruger Mark pistols. Their "Target Sear" for the Ruger Mark pistols will definitely make you smile, and is more than worth its cost.
Their extractor is a second choice in my shop as there is a much better extractor available for a meager $10.00.
The Volquartsen recoil spring assembly kit for the Ruger Mark pistols will give you two extra springs to tune your pistol with one spring being a bit lighter and then another spring being a bit heavier to help dampen the "recoil impulse energy" involved with .22 rimfire up in the 1300 to 1400 FPS range.

I'm currently working with some of the Volquartsen aftermarket parts just to see if they'll play well with other aftermarket parts available for the Ruger Mark IV.

I run 3 Ruger uppers a 3” Target MKIII, a 4 3/4” Standard MKII with Volquartsen tall front sight and their fully adjustable TL rear sight. Also I have a stock Ruger 6” Standard. My other 3 uppers are PacLite with barrels of 3 1/2”, 4.4”, and 6”. Two of these barrels have orange serrated front sight inserts done by Dennis at SGW and are great sights that work better for me in dim light than light pipes. I mix and match these six uppers on three different Volquartsen 1911 style Target Frames all with the same style Hogue rubber grip panels. I shot Ruger 22/45 Frames stuffed with all the goodies for a while but once I picked up the Volquartsen frame it felt and shot perfect in my hands. The Rugers with upgrades always had differences after being finished but with a blinbfold on it would be hard to tell which is which of the Volquartsen Frames. The 6” PacLite barrel has had the barrel contour turned down to that of a Ruger 5 1/2” Target Model and wears a Volquartsen rail system. The system comes with their target sights and upper and lower rails in a 1pc. Unit. This assembly is being turned into a SBR.

I have a Volquartsen on a Ruger Mk II frame. Very accurate and on the level of a Smith 41 but it is not quite up to the high-end target pistols. The trigger is right about the 2 pound limt and makes a good entry to mid-level target pistol. This target is 5 shots at 50 yards. In accuracy, it does very well.

Much appreciated, lots of good testimonials.

I'm looking for a .22 to practice with and before I go the Hämmerli way I thought I'd look at the Volquartsen options for the Ruger Mk IV.

Ideally I'd like to spend a day or two with some of these pistols but the chances of even seeing one in my backwoods are none. I've shot a Smith Mod. 41 but the grip angle didn't fit me near as well as a Colt Woodsman which I still remember as being a perfect grip fit and trigger for me.

So here I am.
