Tell me who makes this scope I describe?

-Very small & short
-Very lightweight (under 11 oz)
-Standard rifle placement eye-relief, yet "good" eye relief (i.e. not 2.5 - 3.0", but 3.5 - 4.5")
-Fixed power, either 1.5, 1.75, 2.0, 2.5, or 3.0 x
-High quality, but well under $300
-Medium to thick reticle (preferably a duplex style - thick to medium)

This is for my Chippa L'il Badger. Needs to be short enough that the rear is entirely in front the hammer, to allow for manual cocking without hammer extension.

Edit: OK, the Loopy FX-II looks like my best best, and fits the bill nicely, heavy duplex and all:

But anything else in this category, perhaps $50 or more less, with almost the same quality?

Might consider the Burris FF-II in a 2-7X32. About $150. It's variable and 12 oz, but only $150. Good scopes too. Might be too long, but have a look.

The FX-II is a darn good scope, but for $50 less I'd rather have this, but you can't go wrong with either. You can set it on 2.5X and have the same scope. Or have the versatility for more or less magnification.

Same weight, a little longer, but the added length is on the front so if the FX-II will clear so will this.

Good call on the VX-1 1-4x20....need to figure out for sure which ones will fit forward of the hammer.

In fact, there's nothing not to like about the VX-1. It's the SAME weight, and has the added advantage of variability and costs less. I could see getting the FX-II if I could save an ounce or two, but only way the VX-1 ain't better is if the slightly shorter FX-II makes the difference between accessing the hammer or not. The FX-II has slightly more eye relief (4.9 vs. 3.7/4.2)

In my mind I picture something as small as a 1" red dot tube, but I guess this is impossible to build.

Oh, and I don't mean heavy reticle all the way across, just on the edges like that FX-II there I linked to. Still a fine aiming point. But you're right, I don't want thick on the actual cross-point on a rimfire.

I use tasco bantam shotgun scopes, 2.5x20. I think they weigh eight ounces, have good FOV and are a bit easier on my eyes than an iron aperture sight. For me, they will let print a little under two inches at 100m, which is almost as well as I can do anyway.

I will not suggest that they are of the same quality as a Leupold. If memory serves, the focus around the perimeter may be to a distance shorter than the center, but since I only shoot at things in the center, I have not found this to be an issue.

As you would expect of a shotgun scope, they hold zero on an AR.

that's pretty short... most new compact rifle scopes are in the 9" range... can you fit a cantilever type mount, to move the scope more forward, or a hammer extension ???

otherwise there might be something out there in the used market... or an AR style prism sight ???

most of the compact AR type "scopes" are really cheap brand names, which I wouldn't buy personally, but perhaps something like this might work out on your 22 ???
