Tell me about this

I have an AR15 made by Palmetto Armory. Has anyone ever heard of this company? I am assuming it is now defunkt because I have never heard of a product from them. The AR works well but it is just typical and not anything special. It has a chrome bore and shoots about 1.5 MOA give or take. With my reloads it shoots better.

Please tell me what you guys think or have heard about this company.

Thanks,

Joel

Neither the 20th edition of Blue Book of Gun Values or 2000 Standard Catalog of Firearms lists Palmetto Armory. And these two books list almost everybody. Maybe someone with a Jack First parts catalog could help. The Gun Parts corporation catalog doesn't list Palmetto either. Sorry. Good luck.

Palmetto Armory rifles are most likely parts guns built on machined alloy receivers. I built 2 of them back in the early '80s . I know that I had to have them ordered thru an ad in the Shotgun News, but darned if I can remember who from. Quality was OK but not any more than that. Best part about them is that they are all preban rifles, as I believe Palmetto stoppped making them long before the Assault weapon ban.
