Tell me about recoil reducers.

Anybody use recoil reducers on their semiauto handguns? Do they really work, and what brand are you using, Sprinco, Hart, or similar?
Thanks, Sling Shot

I have a hartts rod for G21. It does not so much lessen the recoil as it does slow it down and change the tempo. The effect is more noticeable with the hotter ammo. The 45 may be the wrong application for it; might be better off in something with a higher slide velocity (10mm/40/357).

I have a Harrts in my 1911 and I notice a huge difference, it really tames the recoil. I never tried one in a Glock but I imagine with the Glock's much lower bore axis and wider backstrap it would seem to do much less than in my 1911. Here's a link to information on the Harrts. http://www.johnqs.com/harrts.html

I don't have one but I borrowed one for my SIG 220 in Missouri. It made a huge difference to me, and that was with fairly light 200 gr. SWC reloads. I loved it. I'd like to have one of my own someday, it just isn't a priority right now as I try to get rolling in the reloading game. If you can try one, do so. I really liked it.

I have a Springco in my Commander. I have one more load to test before I'm ready to recommend it. So far, so good.
