I been thinking about getting a shotgun and came across this guy.I was thinking about a single shot until I found this one. What are the pros and cons of this gun and what would be a good price to pay for it.It has one magazine that looks to hold two shells and is chambered in 16 ga.

I have a Mossberg 190, 16 ga shotgun with the C-Lect-Choke, an adjustable choke on the end of the barrel. Gun was purchased in 1953 by my father and used a limited number of years for Pheasant hunting. Because it is not my favorite shotgun, it has not been used since about 1960, although the bolt is very smooth. It is only missing one thing--the red safety button. That button is not available anywhere that I know of.

Variants of the 190:
190 1950-1955 C-Lect-Chole 26" barrel Plastic butt plate
190A 1955-1956
190D 1955-1958 Interchangeable chokes 28" barrel Rubber butt plate
190K 1956 only C-Lect-Choke 26" barrel Rubber butt plate
190K-A 1956-1957 C-Lect Choke 26" barrel Rubber Butt Plate
190K-B 1957-1952
190K-C 1963 only

A couple of years ago, I found a 16 ga. Mossberg 190 with the C-lect choke listed for $99 at at a local gun store. It had decent wood, no rust and shiney bore. I got it for $86 in cash out the door. I bought it because it brought back memories of my uncle who had a 20 ga. bolt action when I was a kid. I actually killed a pheasant with that bolt action.

I may or may not ever hunt with mine, but it is fun to shoot. I can even work the bolt fast enough to shoot report pairs at the local wobble clays course, so I might take it pheasant hunting sometime.

Here is one on Gunbroker listed at $99 that appears to be in a little better condition that the one I bought. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=287741152
