Does any one know about teflon coating? I was looking at having a rem 700 pss accurized at H-S Precision, their price includes Teflon coating. How does teflon hold up, someone told me it would crack and peel. And what color does it make the gun?
Jeffly, teflon comes in several colors with the most commonly used being matte black. Your rifle will look very much like the off the shelf Remingtons with the synthetic stocks. The metal finish is very similar. Teflon is a baked on finish and while it does wear it won't crack and peel. I have seen lacquer finishes do this when not applied correctly. Teflon is very scratch resistant and rust proof. George
