Ted Williams M100 30-30

I found a Sears Roebuck era "Ted Williams" ,aka no name Win 94, at LGS for $275.00 OTD. It looks like granddad bought it, shot it once a few times and it's sat in a gun cabinet since then. The action was very clean. It did have a little surface rust. Some Flitz and about 90 minutes of polishing and watching NatGeo took care of that.

How did I do on price? Does anyone know of a site where I can find out about the serial number as to where it was made?

As soon as I can I'll try to post a picture, but I'm puter stupid.

I see plain-jane post 64 94's for around 300 here, give or take, so I think you paid plenty. In other parts of the country that might be a bargain. The important thing is that you're happy with it.

What you didn't do is buy a second-rate 30-30. We've had a couple of Sears & Sawbuck30-30's over the years and they were all by major makers- and good rifles.

About right.....

but not a fantastic deal as stated above - our LGS has used Winchesters around $300 all the time. I bought a beater and refinished it for 200 a couple years ago. They make ideal truck and trunk guns IMHO. I use mine much like others use an SKS.

Ted Williams 30/30

Great weapons for the price! I got one in trade with other stuff 12 years ago. Put it in the back of the safe & that was where it stayed til a couple months ago. Very bored couple months ago. Picked up some new Win 30/30 brass for almost nothing & reloaded some. Rolled some standard flat points as well as some FMJBTs & some spitzers. Took all of it to the range and had a blast(literally) The old beater is a real performer. The sights are dead on(for the most part) at 100yds. Flat points hit a little high & right. FMJBT's hit a little to the left. No recoil & fun to shoot, what more could ya need today. It looks like it belongs in a museum somewhere but, it is now my GoTo gun when I want to spend some time at the range. Tis the bottom one of course in the pic. Have been looking at AuctionArms.com & Gunbroker.com, both have had these listed for $250 to $350 on average. A few have the original box & look like new. Inexpensive, accurarate, and fun to shoot!:D

Shoot it and enjoy, they are great guns and the price for a nice one is in the ballpark of what you paid. If you tried to sell it, it wouldn't loose any value.
