Ted Nugent in latest American Handgunner.

In the latest issue of American Handgunner magazine Ted talked about the Wart hog he killed at 106 paces with his Glock 10mm using a Cor Bon 135 grain. It was in South Africa on safari with his family. He dropped it with one shoulder shot.
There was a picture of him and the kill, a good looking hog. I am not up on 10mm ballistics. Is this caliber really that good?

My reaction...NO..but he appearantly is.

Cor-Bon Self-Defense, 10mm, 135gr JHP, 1400fps/588ft/lbs.

Their lightest hunting load for the 10 is; 180gr BondedCore SP, 1300fps/676ft/lbs.

Corrected error on speed of 135 load.

Not related to his 10 mm but Fun.
The "Nuge" opened for Kiss at their last Boston concert on Tuesday. I ate it up. He had his full Native American regalia and headress on. His encore was to shoot a flaming arrow at his guitar through an amp. F***ing incredible. I realize many of you have probably seen this before but I am 23 and it was my first time seeing Nugent. Great performer and an even better Hunter.
Catch a concert near you
Good Day

Maybe they were baby-steps? Or maybe he was misquoted and it should have been 100mm :) I don't think a 10mm could take down a warthog at that kind of distance.

For God so loved the world that he gave his onlly begoten Son...

10mm is a hard hitting round. Like a .44 and .41 Mag. A lot of people here in the south hunt hogs with 10mm

THE TEDSTER IS MY MAN!! He is politically incorrect and does not apoligize. HE IS IN ON HUNTING PROGRAMS FOR KIDS AND IS A 2ND AMENDMENT ACTIVIST. i saw him on TV up against a tree/bunny hugger. he listened to her rail against hunting ect. then he challenged her to live for one month with out living off of the death of any living thing! she got beligerent and said amybe hunters should be the ones we hunt instead of Bambi (pleasee). Ted told her if she wanted a piece of the Nuge to come on but pack a lunch because she did not stand a chance. LOVE THAT GUY

TED NUGNET FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a huge fan of the "Gonzo One" for a long time now. I have caught just about every episode of Ted's SPIRIT OF THE WILD show. Last year I saw him take a nice buck at 100yards with a un-scoped S&W .44 mag. This buck was hauling ___! I also watched the Nuge take a doe with his Browning bloodbrother at about 40 yards, again, the deer was running full bore. Ted is one of the better shots, and in my view, the best hunter on TV. His shows are FAR from the regular "hick" hunting shows on the Outdoor Channel. Many gun owners don't even realize that Ted is a BIG PRO-GUNNER. In fact, He is on the board of directors for the NRA. Many young hunters and shooters have never popped in a Nuge CD. His 1995 CD "Spirit of the Wild" rocks, Rocks, ROCKS!
It is loaded with pro-gun, pro-hunting songs including my favorite.... "Kiss my A__." A song dedicated to all the liberals. Also, his new CD " Hunt Music 2000" is out.. and it also ROCKS!! Ted is without a doubt, the LOUDEST pro-gunner out there. As mentioned above, Ted takes no crap from the antis. If your kid needs a role model, Ted is the man!

I just went back to Ted's site to check out his ammo. I knew what he uses, just didn't know the ballistics....

Ted Nugent's WHACKMASTER AMMO by CORBON
10MM
135 gr. JHP 1400fps/587 ft lbs. STREET USE.

180 gr. Bonded Core 1300/675 street/hunting.

200 gr. Penetrator 1200/640 hunting.

Look for Whackmaster ammo by Corbon, the ammo in the Zebra striped box, that sounds like a Nugent Guitar.

" I SHOOT BACK! "

Saw Ted on "Politically Incorrect" on ABC a few months back, it was him vs everyone else on gun control. He never lost his cool despite the oppositions best attempts to make him do so.

Saw ol' Ted back in 1978 when I was working at the Detroit Free Press (I was there as a reporter, believe it or not). It was a Cobo Hall show, his "home base" and man, what a show. I'm not much of a fan of hard rock, but he's obviously someone who puts his back into his work.

A few months ago he was the subject of VH1's "Behind the Music" series. Ted told this tale of meeting Jimi Hendrix which I thought contained some good advice:

"Hendrix asked if I wanted to smoke some pot and I said no. He then noticed the pistol I had in my belt and asked me what that was about. I told him that when I left the house in the morning I always made sure I had three things - a pocketknife, a clean hanky, and a pistol. You know, the things a guy can use."

It's a list of items I can relate to myself.

Hello Ken

I saw that vh-1 special yesterday. That is the best quote I have ever heard. What a cool bastard.

Nuge is Da Man. Frankly, it didn't surprise me at all when I read that article, since I know what 10mm can do in the hands of competent shooter. I just grinned and said "Ted, you rock. Onstage and off."
