The dirty secret is, there are no free elections in Massachusetts. Between fanatical left wing students, union thugs, and corrupt democratic political machines, real change will take a long hard bitter struggle.

If that is the case, how is it that the Bay State has had mainly republican governors in the past 20 years or so - Romney, Celucci, Weld, etc.?

Anywhere else they'd be considered typical liberals, but the democrats here are so far out in left field, that it makes these so-called republicans seem conservative, but only in comparison.

And, his fortitude to take a stand and exercise wise independent judgment from his military advisers, patience, and discretion kept us out of WW3 during the CM crisis.

Fat Teddy is a consistent champion for the so-called 'liberal' causes, for better or worse. Mostly worse. He should have been disgraced from public life after the drowning (not to mention criminally charged), but somehow came out relatively unscathed. Quite a shame. He is truly an idgit, who votes for every victim disarmament measure that's ever come down the pike.

OK, we'll I'll be darned. Wild thinks it'd have been *better* for JFK to have been TOUGH instead of a 'rat fink', just as his military advisors were telling him, not letting Kruschev save face, pushed the issue in the Atlantic, and therefore causing his kids to be born with a radioactive glow, if even living. Interesting perspective.

Or, are the historians just all wrong who say that had he taken his advisors' advice, we likely would have escalated to a nuclear exchange? Are they re-writing history? Because that's possible, certainly. But it wouldn't be what people my age "learnt in skul."

Well, whatdyaknow. WildAlaska and I finally share a common belief!

I generally don't watch political tv (I just can't stand the shouting matches), but I did enjoy watching Spectre put Teddy in his place during the Alito Hearing. It gives new meaning to the "Spectre Gunship".
