I finally got around to completley takign apart my somewhat neweley aquire Remington 552 (.22 semiautomatic)

The only other semiautomatic weapon I've had the pleasure of disassembling was a mak90 which has a gas tube and a piston and that kind of stuff. And I understand how that works.

But I just relazed when I took apart my 552 that I didn't see a gas tube or any of that stuff. So could anybody give me a technical explanation of how my rifle here works?

Thanks!

Newtonian physics (for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction)

The weight of the bolt serves to lock up the action. The bolt was engineered such that the engergy generated by the gasses will unlock it and push it back enough to extract and eject, and feed a new cartridge.
