Here is the quick summary:
A process has been made to develop a room temperature IR night vision device. This means it has completely shed the need for a cooling system and they expect to be able to make it small enough to be a contact lens.
Now, if you read the first sentence...the first thoughts that might come to your mind are the possibilities for scopes and gun sights.
Basically, ANY scope design could easily be made into a night vision scope. Depending on cost, simply having a scope could become ubiquitous with night vision.
I think the more interesting possibilities might be in what could be done for pistols. A small pop up might replace high visibility dots for low light shooting.
I'm just kind of curious what ideas you guys might have for what could be done with this type of technology in relation to gun sights.
