Teachers taking ccw classes....

If teachers were allowed to carry, it would be concealed. That means, none of the students would know that they were carrying or who was carrying. They would know there's a possibility that someone is carrying. It sounds like they are being trained as well. That's the whole idea behind public concealed carry (places where it's legal to CCW)
I'd have no problem with teachers carrying in my daughter's school.

This is one of the enduring beauties of strong States Rights. Even in the face of a population dumbed down by NYC and LA Media NewThink, if we can preserve State's Rights on issues like this, there will hopefully be a Utah or a Vermont or a Wyoming to stand up and say, "We'd like to try something a bit different".

In time, other people learn the lessons of the various States' experiences and demand solutions that seem to work. Modern CCW laws started with a Florida legislature willing to take a chance. The experience was tracked and the program was transplanted to dozens of other states.

Kudos to Aposhian and to Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff; the one for starting the dialog, and the other for at least taking it seriously.

Being a Utah resident, firearms enthusiest, concealed carrier, AND parent who's son is in the Utah school system.... I'm really glad to see something actually being done toward this. Everyone likes to think "no, a school shooting wouldn't happen at my kids' school". But it can and has a few too many times to keep ignoring. If I knew one of my son's teachers were carrying, I think I'd have to shake their hand, then invite them out to the range. Here's to keeping fingers crossed others will follow the example.
