TC Omega questions

I've got a TC Omega that's maybe 15-20 years old. I acquired it a few years ago. I clean and clean and clean and oil and oil and oil and I still have this going on:

So a few questions:
1) How can I prevent this? What am I doing wrong?
2) What's the best way to mitigate the damage?

Thanks!

I'd "guess" that the WeatherShield coating on the gun isn't there anymore. I've owned a number of TC ML rifles and I've never seen this before. Could be something you've done/used while cleaning it? Not enough info to tell. You might want to send this pic to TC and get their opinion.

I generally use TC Number 13 Bore Cleaner, and Rem Oil.

I did use a foaming cleaner a few times last year that I got as a gift.

So just use the contact info on their website? Is that the best way?

Call them and ask them the best way. Someone in customer service will assist you with this. You need to address this with them anyway if you want anything done about it. They may do something for you as either warranty or good will. Start with them. Everyone on here is just guessing and can't do anything. Contact TC.
