Taylors must have known I have a birthday coming up,,,
Because they just sent me a "back in stock" e-mail.

Near the start of this year Microgunner bought a revolver that I really liked,,,
It was an Uberti Cattleman SAA clone in .22 LR.

What caught my eye was that it was an absolute twin,,,
To a 5.5" "Dakota" in .357 magnum I already own,,,
Taylors & Co. was out so I experienced no joy,,, :(
I spent my tax refund on something else.

Yesterday I got an e-mail from them,,,
They said the revolver I wanted was back in stock.

I always buy me something nice for my birthday on Nov 17th,,,
It's just a bit early but I decided to jump on this,,,
It's now on it's way to The Evil Pawn Shop. :D

This is the .357 Magnum Dakota I already own,,,

This is the .22 LR Cattleman that's on it's way,,,

I'm certain there will be some differences,,,
But from what I can see in the picture,,,
It is a near exact match to my gun.

Now I have to make a two gun rig for it,,,
I'm thinking Hollywood drop-loop for the .22,,,
And a matching (removable) cross-draw for the .357.

But here's the best part of the whole scenario,,,
I started to just order it and have it shipped to The Evil Pawn Shop,,,
$475.00 list + $20.00 transfer fee + $25.00 shipping would be a total cost of $520.00.

But then I got to thinking about supporting my local business.

I went to The Evil Pawn Shop on my lunch hour and talked to the owner,,,
He called Taylors and got a wholesale price from them,,,
With that info we made a great deal for both of us.

So I get to own the gun for $470.00 out the door,,,
The Evil Pawn Shop Guy gets much more than his transfer fee,,,
Taylors & Co. gets their wholesale price and I save $50.00 for myself.

Everyone is happy. :D

It should be here this coming Monday.

Hello Bob,,,

'Pears to me should be the other way around!

Actually, since they are hopefully identical twins,,,
Either pistol should fit either holster.

I do know I'll shoot the .22 more than the .357,,,
Ammo being so much cheaper for the .22.

The other idea is to not build a gunbelt and holsters at all,,,
But instead make saddlebag holsters for them.

Essentially it would be a two compartment range bag,,,
But design it to look like old west saddlebags.

I'll drag out my copy of Packing Iron tonight,,,
See if something inspires me.
