The Taurus manual says that they are not rated for +p, or +p+ loads but will they handle all other standard loads safely? This is particularly confusing with the pt 140 it looks like it will only shoot 180 grain bullets with a muzzle velocity of 985fps. Also does anyone have an e-mail address for Taurus.

Don't know if this will help, but is from their web site:

Good luck

Good luck finding a +p load for a PT140. the.40 cal is pushing a high cup pressure as it is. No one that I know of makes a +p round for the .40 .

Taurus Millennium series frames and pins are shaking apart as it is and you want to shoot +P loads through them?????!!!!! If you want to get hurt, go ahead. My PT-145's frame is cracked from just shooting standard pressure loads!!! No thanks, I am trying to decide how to safely unload this lemon as it is!!!

As to the insanity about souping up a .40SW: get your micrometer out and measure the case expansion about 0.2" up from the rim compared to the rim....... If that doesn't convince you: the guy I buy re-load .40 from will only use once-fired brass if loaded to the standard SAMMI spec. He told me he tried to soup up the load to make major power factor in once-fired brass and blew his gun up when a case failed.
