What's up party people!

I am having some problems with my Better Half's Taurus .38 Special. The trigger is a MONSTER; she has to use both index fingers to pull it, and even when she does, it only fires 50%-75% of the time.

The firing pin strikes every time, but I guess it's a light strike some of the time...

I've tried all kinds of ammo, from the cheap range ammo to defense rounds like the Hydra-Shok 129 Grain JHP and the +P Remington Golden Saber 125 Grain JHP, and it's the same result.

Also, the trigger seems to just stick every once in a while so that you have to open and spin the cylinder before it will fire again.

Anyone have a similar experience or can give any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah.... You got all kinds of issues going on. It will likely be painful but your best bet is to send it to Taurus.

Good luck.

I have a model 85 and was experiencing the same problems. I went back to the gun shop where I bought the gun just months prior and they sent it back to Taurus for me free of charge. The gun was gone for about 3 weeks but came back as good as new. Just send it back.

Just installed a Wolff 6.5 lb trigger spring & 9 lb hammer spring in the wife's 85CH. Shot about 60 rounds through it last night and they all went boom. The trigger is as nice as my old 650, now.

Send it back to Taurus. The 85 is one of their more dependable guns and should never behave like that. As for the trigger, not much you can do about it aside from dry firing (with snap caps) to smooth out the action.
