Taurus Ultralight

Cant find an answer to this question on the Taurus website or in the archives here...

What are the Taurus ultralight revolvers made out of? How is the corrosion resistance? Are there parts on a "blued" ultralight that will still rust like typical blued steel?

Any insight would be appreciated.

There are a couple of different Taurus ULs. One has aluminum alloy frame and steel barrel and cyl. The other is the UL Multialloy Model. It has aluminum alloy frame with titanium cyl and barrel shroud. Steel barrel liner. None are totally rust resistant but more so than blue steel. There is also a totally titanium Taurus model but it is not designated as the Ultralite.

Thanks

Specifically, I am looking at the 851 UL and the 85 UL -- trying to weight the size/weight difference against the 2 extra round capacity.

But, I am also wondering if its worth the extra $50 or so to get Stainless UL over the Blue UL. I like the looks of the blue, but this will be an everyday concealed carry gun and I wonder about the corrosion resistance.

I have the alum/stainless M85UL. Great little gun. I have had no problems with rust. I don't carry it daily, but I have work it working in the woods and have carried it in my tackle box. I've also carried it while hunting in the rain.
