The price is $500 after tax, fees, etc. I can't seem to get this pistol out of my mind. What do you think s a good asking price for a S&W 686, Hogue grips (rubber) in excellant condition? I'm thinking $300. If I do a trade I probably won't get over $250 for it.
Ezekial, how is the accuracy on your SS model?

Two of us shot the Tracker with various brands and loads (including some hot reloads).
Accuracy, once the sights were in, was excellent (my friend is a much better shot then I). I kept them in the 9 and 10 rings (occasional flier to the 8 ring) as 20 yards. His were all in the 9 or ten..mostly the ten.
This was all free standing, single and double action.
As I mentioned...the "ribber" grips didn't grab me right off...my buddy really liked them.
BTW, I'd traded a Taurus Model 669 (similar specs to the Tracker, but 16 oz heavier, 6 shot vs 7 in the Tracker). I got $250 for it.
One thing I really like about the newer Taurus revolver designs is the detent lock at the yoke (so the gun locks foreward and aft of the cylinder..very positive locking).
I thought very seriously about the titanium, but the cost/benefit led to the stainless gun.
I do have an 85UL (aluminum frame, titanium barrel shroud and cylinder). I really wanted the Ti version, but the weren't to be had when I bought the 85UL. This is my most frequently carried sidearm.
I don't know what your S&W is worth, but unless you've got to sell it to by the Tracker, I wouldn't. But if it's an "either or" situation, get the Tracker in the material that best suits you.
