Taurus Tracker Jamming - Case setback with CCI shotshells

WTH? Taurus Tracker .45 acp. Ordinary ammo shoots just fine, but *every* shot with the CCI shotshell round causes case setback, and locks it up - takes a fair amount of pounding and torqueing to get the cylinder free. Why would lighter loads cause case setback where heavier loads do not - is it the aluminum case? Is this to be expected with this type of ammo? Would other brand revolvers likely do the same? Any fixes? That's the main reason I bought the dadgummed thing - to shoot weird rounds that semis won't cycle. Thanks.

This is quite usual. The CCI .45 ACP shotshell is not really made for use in revolvers. It acts like a bottleneck. When it fires, the case sets back against the breechface and the slight neck where the shotshell extends up into the cylinder throat expands against the headspace stop and holds it there, binding cylinder rotation.

The maker has recommended against using the .45 ACP shotshells in revolvers for several years, precisely because they do jam the cylinders.
It was built for autos, don't use it in a revolver.
