Taurus Titanium Snub

I was looking at one of our local gunstores the other day and saw one of the new Taurus model 85 titanium 38's. I read some articles about them and it looks like it would be a pretty decent gun for concealed carry, light weight, strong. Has anyone shot one of these, I would imagine even with the factory porting they would be a nasty little beast to shoot with +P loads.

I've one of the 85UL (aluminum frame, titanium cylinder and barrel shroud).
There have been several threads on this type of gun. You may want to search this site.
These are nice revolvers. I've carried one frequently for about a year now. Other then light strikes on the primers (which required a trip back to the factory), this is a very reliable piece.
"+P" ammo is handled quite nicely by the ported little gun.
I don't think a steady diet of any +P ammo is good for any gun. However, occasional usage shouldn't be a concern.

Alex, I have a Ti .357, and it's an absolute joy to shoot. That's with everything from light .38SPL wadcutters to full-house .357 Hydrashoks. I can't wait to get the .45 Colt version.

One of my friends has been drooling over a Ti for some time, but hasn't been able to take one for a test drive. I let her shoot mine on Saturday. She was expecting to get the crap beat out of her hand, as she already owns a *&* Airweight .38 which is utterly EVIL. After a few rounds of .38 in my Ti, she switched to .357, touched off 3, and said "I'm convinced."

Get it. You won't be disappointed.

Besides, Taurus is giving away NRA memberships or upgrades with every new purchase. ;)

I just picked up one of these beauties ...

... not too long ago myself (see [Link to invalid post]) and I have to tell you that I've been pretty happy with it. The recoil is indeed snappy due to the short barrel and the light weight of the gun but it is controllable and the light weight makes it easy to carry all day long.

Just bought a Taurus 85T (total titanium) yesterday. I love it!

It's very snappy (but controllable) and loud with 129gr +P HydraShoks.

My only complaint is that it's hard to clean the front sight blade. The porting allows all kinds of crud to stick to the blade, and I'm worried about accidentally removing the matte blue (beautiful light blue color) finish from scrubbing it too hard.
