Taurus "Spectrum Blue" Titanium Revolvers?

It's very pretty (which is why I bought mine) but doesn't seem to wear well with actual regular holster carry. It appears to be more of an applied surface coating than any sort of finish with depth. I've considered stripping it off my 85 and trying to actually anodize the thing the same color.

I'll see if I have a picture of the wear.

I'd have to dig up a receipt but I think it was the first or second year of the "Ti" guns being out.

I did holster carry it on construction jobsites and such but the blueing on my Commander shows no excessive wear from similar use.

I think it is just kinda painted on, not bonded or worked in.

If I had left it as a "church" gun and got another for daily wear, it probably would have worn better.

I have carried one since 2000. I have some wear, mostly along the trigger gaurd. My wife got it for me as a back up weapon, she liked the color. My Tauris 617 total ti is to big for ankle carry, but, carries nice in a Bianichi belt holster. I guess it is just time before it starts loosing it's color.
