Where the heck is my Taurus Slim. I have been waiting. Are they actually going to manufacture these things?

Taurus comes up with some real good ideas, to bad most of them never see the light of day. If they do, they never seem to work right.

Humor or ignorance?

Reality. It's a fair and accurate assessment. Taurus manufactures some very compelling designs that could be stellar hits if they could learn how to spell Q.C.

Alas...

There is a lot of folks that like taurus and a lot haters that will not touch them with a bargepole, that being said for the folks that do want to touch one how can they if they never arrive.I never understood what takes so long or maybe they only have a couple of employess working and can only build one gun a day.

I was referring more to the statement "they never seem to work right." If teifmen was commenting only on the "few" he's owned, then fair enough. But, if he's talking about all Taurus products, then I say again, "humor or ignorance." Taurus would not be in business very long if, in general, their products never seemed to work right. Well.... except for folks who keep buying them even though "everyone of them had problems." What' the old saying... "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Disclaimer - I do not, nor have I ever worked for Taurus. :) I just get tired of folks beating up on the same kid every day. In fact, isn't it time we hear from ..... well, I don't want to name names. But, many of you probably know our favorite Taurus basher. Doesn't miss an opportunity to relate his experience with his revolver cylinder. Always the same spin (pun intended) on that story.

Bryco/Jennings/Jimenez has been in business since 1978, and their guns are well known to be absolute garbage by just about everyone. Your argument just doesn't hold water.

How many "few" does one need to own to be able to recognize shoddy design, subpar manufacturing, and ****-poor quality control?

So much hate of firearms on a gun board.

Here is some more!!!!
Taurus does Reminds me of Ruger.
A long......... wait then a recall.
LPC- kel-tec copy.
SR9- with Glock trigger.
LCR- massive plastic snubbie.....waiting on recaLL.
NOW ANOTHER RUGER ORIGIONAL IDEAL!!!
The SR-588!!! Not many AR clones out there

Not sure which company puts out more crap. Ruger or Taurus.

Hard to take anyone serious here.

So let me get this straight, you're distressed that a thread discussing Tauruses has turned negative (as most Taurus threads do for reasons that should be self-evident), and your solution is to tangent off into negativity against another brand entirely not under discussion in this thread?

Furthermore, most everyone on this thread who is decidedly not a fan of Taurus (myself included) has conceded that Taurus designs are compelling, but their manufacturing, quality control, and service are not up to par. Your malignment of Ruger, however, is based on their designs - specifically the fact that you view them as unoriginal. Once again you have missed the point and seem to be trolling aimlessly for reasons I cannot fathom.

More annoying still, you accuse the LCR of a pending recall with zero evidence. I guess you had to throw in a little extra melodrama so as to continue to fail to make a coherent point.

Recognizing problems in a company's policy isn't "hate", it's truth - I for one would love for Taurus to step up their QC and service. If they did so, I would be the first in line to buy any number of their products, even if the price went up an extra $50-$100. I don't hate Taurus, I'm just disappointed by them.

Hard to take anyone serious here.

Look in the mirror, buddy.

Personal opinions about Taurus quality aside, anyone know when the slim line of Taurus semi auto handguns might appear?

My personal experience with Taurus handguns, four in all,has been great.

I would buy them again.

I'd prefer my G19 to my PT111 any day of the week, BUT that's not to say the Taurus is crap. It's a great cheaper alternative that functioned well for me (so long as I kept it clean). I'd definitely buy another Taurus if one fit my needs and is priced well. That little 738 pocket .380 is on my radar for sure. If the information on that link is accurate, I've got a little wait for that one. Maybe the slim will fit in my pocket...
