Got one in 454 and love it. I find it to be very well made and very accurate. The double cylinder latches seemed a little awkward to me at first but you get use to it fast. The porting is very effective at reducing recoil. Between the weight of the gun and the porting, my 454 is not too bad on the hands and wrists. The 44 mag should be very easy to shoot.
The only negative thing I have to say about this revolver is that the grip is very thick (front to back) and makes the trigger a little hard for my stubby fingers to reach. This is only a problem in double action. I can get my finger on the trigger but its a little bit of a reach, not completely natural. In single action its no problem at all.
Overall I give it very high marks. You should be very happy with your new purchase. Enjoy.
