Taurus PT945 Upgrades

Hey guys I am new to this forum. I am eager to learn about any upgrades or modifications you PT945 owners have done. I am wondering if polishing the ramp or anything else can be beneficial to my gun. It is still new (only about 500 rounds fired) and I am trying to find out what I can do to help it.

Also, what do you CCW holders use to conceal it?

Thanks for your help, Dave 45ACP

PT145's

Best thing you can do is to trade it in on a Glock! Do a search on this site. The polymer is splitting at the back of the firearm!

I have the PT945 also and have had very good luck with it. It will shoot anything I've put thru it and is pretty accurate. It couldn't hurt to polish the feed ramp, but unless you're having problems I would see no need. I got mine from Taurus with factory Trijicon night sights and like them very much. They use the same sights as stock except they have the Trijicons inset with the white outline.

billkrom: You have your guns confused. He is speaking of the PT945, not the PT145. A completely different gun. I have owned two Glocks, and while they are nice guns, I didn't care for either and sold both of them.

I had a pt940, the 945's little brother. Alot of holsters will work..finding one specific to your gun may be a quest...so look for similar sized gun holsters to play with...Sig holsters worked for my gun.
Before I recommend any tweaks for your gun...let me ask, why do you want to tweak it? Is it giving you problems? Is it a CCW and you want to increase its "reliability factor?"
Shoot well

yeah it is my CCW gun (when my license comes). I want to reduce the recoil and muzzle flip for quicker shooting. But I also want increased reliability. It's a great gun but I would like it to be in the best possible condition for carrying. Thanks for your help

Positive things about the PT for a CCW...best safety/function on a gun, big dot front sight for quick target acquisition, Slim profile..single stack grip thickness, usually great trigger gets better with time.
Good design..proven to be dependable and accurate, recoil isnt bad at all for a compact framed 45...even with hot loads.

Possible "reliability" improvements..Wolff springs for recoil and mags, polish feedramp and throat chamber...have gun checked out by a great "s/auto" smith for any possible kinks...never know.
Night sights are a great option and a must for a primary CCW...In My Opinion.....after market grips may help depending on how the stock units fit your hand. I polish the rails on my guns...dont take any metal off...bad gun karma..just shine them up alittle. Porting my help if recoil is severe....last on my list.

Hope this helps.....shoot well
