Have seen alot here in threads about the PT145 RE frame cracks.

Any feedback from PT140 owners. Interested in dependability, the infamous frame cracks associated with the 45acp PT145, Accuracy, trigger.

Comparison to glock 27.

Any feedback appreciated

Thanx....Sleepy

Hello asleepintuscon!!!

This will wake you up. I currently have a PT140, the POS sheared the two slide pins by the trigger, exactly what happenned to SKYSLASH. I had to ship it back to Taurus once before it came apart on me for an accuracy problem, they returned in six weeks and it worked fine for about 500 rds. then one day at the range I shot 20 rds. and on the twentieth the slide/barrel pins sheared and flipped straight up in the air. Fortunately all it did was scare the **** out of me. It is currently back with Taurus (received 2/26/02) I know this because I to track the package the have yet to email me.

As far as the glock 27, I purchased one a week ago. I have 400 rds. through so far and love it. The trigger is by far superior to the PT140 DAO, however the recoil does seem much more noticable from the glock with same CCI 180gr. ammo as I have shot through the taurus. As soon as I get the PT140 back from Taurus it's for sale, the glock's definetly staying!

PT140 is a POS! Trigger is lousy. The slide shaved the slide rails and accuracy was crappy. Sent it back to Taurus and when I got it back I traded it in on Kahr K9. That was the best thing I ever did. The Kahr is perfict 100%.

The Taurus PT140 is good for CCW, and occasional firing at the range. If you want something to carry and shoot regularly at the range, then get the Glock 27. It will cost you $200 extra, but it's worth it.

I've never heard of a PT140 frame crack, but if you shot enough 135-grain Cor-Bon's through one it might.

If you want to good .40 S&W Taurus pistol, look at the PT940 or the PT100 or PT101.
