Taurus PT111 G2

Been seeing the emails from Palmetto State Armory about these for the last couple of months. I thought for $199, I would give it a try. Received it from my FFL yesterday. Cleaned and lube last night, and just generally checked it out. Even with the manual safety, the controls were easy to used and in good locations. The trigger had a lot of take up, and broke at 6 1/4 lbs. When using the double strike feature, the trigger was really mushy. Overall it was better than I expected for a $200 pistol.

Took to the range today, with 100rds of 115gr and 124gr ball ammo. The first 10rds of 115gr ball was low and right, about 5" group. After about the first 50rds the group settled down to about 2" with the 124gr, which the pistol tended to prefer. Future range trips I will try other types of ammo, to see how it does.

Overall I thought it was a good pistol, not a great one.

I ordered one, waiting for my FFL to get back from vacation to pick it up. Sounds like a good deal for $200. For someone who needs a budget CCW like me, seems to fit the bill.

I agree.... I've had mine for a few months, and have put about 450-500 rounds through it.
It has had zero problems. It's very ergonomic, for a compact (sub-compact?) 9mm. It just feels.....right. Very solid, very slick.
Trigger reset is the shortest I've ever seen, and the trigger pull is actually pretty crisp...especially for a striker fired pistol.
Accuracy is considerably better than it needs to be... and it's rated to hold 12 rounds. 11 in the mag is more like it. You can force the 12th one in, but it's tough.
GREAT gun... I predict you will really enjoy it.

I really like mine too. It's been 100% reliable and very accurate. I think it's one of the best bargain guns on the market

Just got mine in, no chance to fire it yet. Lots of takeup in the SA trigger, that's for sure. Feels good in the hand overall. Mag seats looser than I'd like, and there's a tiny bit of play in the slide, but from what I've read both are normal for PT111 G2s and won't hurt functioning.
