Taurus PT-58

Greetings, my boys (13 and 9 years old) have been shooting a Beretta 92. Located a Taurus PT-58 at the local gun shop. It looks like the M92 but smaller and in 380cal. Looking for input. Will the recoil be less. Does it shoot good. Any info would be nuce. Thanks

The PT-58S has quite a bit less recoil. It is simple blowback as compared to the (tilting block) delayed blowback of the 92s (Beretta, Taurus, Vektor, Llama, etc. all derived from the Walther P-38). This is due to the lower chamber pressurs that the .380 develops compared to the larger calibers starting with 9mm. The blue PT-58S I had owned shot ok accuracy wise. It did choke on aluminum cased CCI Blazer ammo but fed okay on regular brass cased ones. All failures (including the occasional brass cased failure) encountered were failures to feed. I had traded it in to help finance a Rem 11/87 plus I have a nickle one (still unfired) to match my nickle PT-99AF.
