taurus pt-140 slide issue

Hey guys, new member! Ive got a new taurus pt-140 mellenium pro
That, quite often, the slide will not come back when pulled manually
Without just a hair of pull on the trigger? To me this is not a safe condition.
Ive only put 100 rnds through it. Fired, chambered, just fine. Nice shooter with no
Failures to feed or extract. This issue occurs on chambering the first
Round, or unloading the weapon. Is this something minor i cld take care of?
Or do i need to send this back to TAURUS? Ive always been a revolver guy, this
Is the 2nd semi auto ive purchssed, issues already!
Thanx for any ideas!

Since it works ok when fired, this suggests that it takes some force to retract the slide.
Maybe you're just not being forceful enough when doing it by hand, to overcome whatever is causing it to be reluctant.
Might be a stiff striker spring.

No, theres definatley sumthin catching? Either just barely pull the
Trigger or like a double yank on slide, i cant see anything
Maybe i shis there anything in trigger/ mag that cld be catching?
Thnx

It sounds like something is interfering with the slide when the trigger is not pressed. Since the trigger is pulled when firing, the problem does not happen then, only when the slide is operated manually. I have no idea where the interference is, but I would look at the sear bar and firing pin block, also at the sear bar and the trigger area. It might work itself out by firing, but there is no way to be sure.

Ok, totally disasembled gun. Looks like it was possibly catching on
Firing pin itself (block) reassembled, has not malfunctioned since?
At any rate, glad i took the advice and did not ship it off too quickly.
