Taurus PT 111 Weight issue

This is for the taurus experts out there who could explain this to me. My Taurus PT 111 3rd Gen (http://www.taurususa.com/product-details.cfm?id=24&category=Pistol) weighs 23oz with empty mag. According to the website it should weight 18.7. That is a pretty big difference. With no magazine its 20oz.

I measured on a postal scale and just confirmed that the scale is 100% accurate by measuring several small weights.

The Taurus website says 22oz for the PT111 g2 - link below. Mine weighed in at 22.5 when I weighed it. 1 oz off from manufacturers claimed weight is not really unusual. The link you attached is for the millennium pro, not the G2.

I dont have the G2. I have a pt111 millenium pro gen 3. The link i provided is the exact gun I have.

Sorry, I was under the impression that the g2 was the third generation of the pt111. I have no info for you, then.

Yea the G2 is the 4th. No idea why they named their new one G2 because its so confusing

But yes my pistol is the same weight as the G2 and that does make sense. I guess I wonder if they were giving our incorrect info or if people have millenium pros that weighed 18 ounces.

Is it possible that yours is a "between generations" model? I know that Taurus made changes within generations, but didnt advertise the uodates as new models, so the weight difference could be because of that.

Thanks! Weird that they didn't update that weight reflection on their website. This helps me a lot.

I had read that post a while back too but never noticed that.
