I would like to hear anyones reactions to these pistols. Please first hand knowledge not hear say. Thank you.

Last January I bought a PT-140. I liked the idea of DA0 and the manual safety for CCW. It proved to be very unreliable, lots of FTF,the trigger was indeed very grainy, and the safety was so loose that I could trust it to stay on. I sent it back and Taurus did a great trigger job and it fed ammo a little better but not good enough for carry. They did nothing for the safety. The best thing about it was that it changed my idea of what I want in a carry gun and I sold it at a big loss and got a Glock 27. I dont want to seem to bash Taurus as I have a PT-22 thats a great little gun and Taurus has alot to offer inother lines but I think they missed with this series. There a better guns of this type out there.

In that class, consider the Kel Tec's. They are pretty amazing in their own right. These guns are between $200 and $300 depending on how they are decked out, and the individual retailer's markup. For an inexpensive gun, they really deliver. The company has a good reputation of standing behind the product too, fixing any problems promptly. My P-11 was great right out of the box. No problems so far.

I second the vote for the Kel-Tecs. I have a P32 and a P11 (9mm). I just tried out the 9mm for the first time today. I didn't clean or lub anything, just made sure the barrel was clear, loaded up and shot. I put around 80 rounds through it, some using an old S&W high-cap magazine fully loaded. Not one problem of any kind. And I was able to shoot more accurately than I had expected, given the relatively long, heavy trigger.

I've also bought a P40, and my wife got her own P32 (with considerable encouragement from me). I think Kel-Tec pistols are excellent, and their very reasonable price is just "icing on the cake."

About 3 yrs ago, my local shop had a PT140 used for $200. When the pistols are used, they'll let me try 'em out at the range, and even supply the bullets...

Only cost $200, and I STILL didn't buy it!

Trigger was nasty, shot WAY low and left of POA, and FT-Eject on the third round.

I chose an AMT 45 backup instead for a "tacklebox gun". Gee... I'd have been better off with the Taurus. More weight when I THROW it at whatever I need to hit!!!
