Both on special this week, could only buy one. Give me some inside info on the Taurus more, than the Ruger. I know the PT-111 is concealable and has double-action only. But what can you tell me of the (PT-111) reliability, fuctions, can it spit different kinds of ammo, can I count on it in any situation, and ect.,? I have read lots on the P-95, it is a great firearm. But is it hard to conceal, due to its size? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The PT-111 and the similar Kel-Tec P11 are both concealable, light, and easy to conceal. Both are hard to shoot well, because of their very long, double-action only triggers. Of the two, I prefer the P-11.

But compared to either the P-11 or PT-111, I much prefer the P-95. (I have a P-11, had a P-95, and have shot the PT-111.)

The P-95 is a far superior weapon, but quite a bit heavier, and a bit bulkier -- so harder to conceal. I'd much prefer the P-95 if I had to depend on a gun in a armed confrontation. (Note: the P-95 LOOKS much bigger than it is; check the measurements and you'll find its not that much bigger than the other standard 9mms, and smaller than some.)

Thanks Walt. That info helps me more, I really appreciated. Thank-you.

I have owned my PT111 for two years and it has never failed to go bang. It is combat accurate and a good carry piece. You can't go wrong for the price. Regards, Richard.

I own both guns, and love both of them. The taurus obviously is much smaller and is nice, b/c it has a safety on it. It has a long draw on the trigger which takes awhile to get used to.

The ruger is a nice gun. A little heavier and bigger, and very reliable. It comes in both Double action only or you can get it with the hammer and decock. If its for concealed carry it will be harder to conceal. The big advantage is 15 rd HIGH CAPACITY MAGS. For this reason I would get the Ruger

My wife had a Taurus PT-111 for a while. The trigger was way too heavy for her to get any practice with, and it malfunctioned very often...mainly double feeds. We sold it very quickly and bought her a Springfield Ultra Compact V-10 and she's very happy with it. Of the two you mantioned, I'd go for the Ruger.
