I bought a lightly used Taurus 24/7 OSS in 9mm. The gun is a pleasure to shoot and very accurate.
That being said, it consistently misfires in DA. I have run about 300 rounds through it and it does not misfire in SA. The DA misfires will sometimes go off on the second try, third try or not at all. I have tried 6 different types of ammunition and they all misfire.
I took the firing pin out and thoroughly cleaned and lubed the action.
Here is what I find strange. The primers on the misfired rounds are dented and look like the fired case primers. Further, I put a pencil in the barrel and fired the gun in both SA and DA. The DA pulls shoot the pencil further than the SA pulls. I repeated the test 5 times and am convinced the DA pulls exert more force on the pencil.
I have heard of light strike misfires. Is it possible to misfire it the primer is struck too hard?
