Ever heard of or seen this 5 shot ultralite snubby in .380 acp? I saw one and handled it today at my local Academy Sports. I could not find this model on Taurus' web site.

Could this be a special for Academy Sports only?

The reason I'm interested in this pistol in .380 is that I am shopping for a revolver for my wife for Mother's Day. I have a Taurus 85 steel and SW442 in 38spl and she has problems with the recoil. I was considering a LCR in 22lr and then I happened to spot this in the case.

Anyone with any info or advice is greatly appreciated!

Instead of buying a new gun why not try some target wadcutters in one of your current revolvers? Perhaps that would work for your wife. Not as much fun as a new revolver but cheaper.

I agree old bear some target wad cutters might work.
Based on my experiences with the PPK and the like (blow back .380s) .380 can pretty snappy too.

I've had one for about 6 months now and the trigger pull is hard, kicks quite a bit and is not very accurate. My wife cannot pull the trigger as she has bad hands, she can shoot my model 10's all day long with no problems but the little 380 is even hard for me as I pull to the side pulling the trigger so hard. I myself would not recomend this 380, there are too many good guns for the same price that are so much better. Charlie

Looked at a Taurus 380 revolver 3 days ago , and thought I might get one to carry . The trigger pull wasn't that terrible for a new gun. Really liked the small frame to match the short cartridge. Fit well in front pocket of my jeans.

I just had my S&W642 in my hand and the taurus 380 and there is 4times the pull on the 380 and I've put at least 300 rounds thru the 380 and it HASN'T GOTTEN ANY BETTER. I put the guns next to each other standing on their trigger guards and the 642 is 1/8 inch longer than the 380 and weighs 1/3 less. I repeat myself, I would not recomend this gun and knowing what I know now I would not purchase one now. I only keep it as I have 2 other 380's and I hate to get rid of a gun once i buy it new. I would also like to add that the 642 I bought new and it was Cheaper than the 380 that I bought new.

I have been really interested in this revolver. I would thing it would be good to keep my other 380 pocket guns company. I am suprised that it is not listed on Taurus' website. It is a new product and I have seen a couple IRL. I hope they have not discontinued it
