Held this 4" barrelled revolver in my hands and it felt great and I liked the target sights. Holds 9 rnds. Any body have/shot this gun before? What are your impressions? Accuracy? They come with 2", 4", 5" barrels.

Bought one, cylinder seized up. Sent to Taurus, adjustable sight came loose and wouldn't hold.

Thus I sold it. I currently have a Ruger SS Bearcat for 22 plinking - the purpose I wanted the gun for it.

22 taurus

I have the 22 mag which hold 8 rounds, and i haven't had any problems with it, the wife likes it because of low recoil. Mine has the 4" barrel.

Have a 94 - 5".

I have dogged the gun in this forum before, but I now have the sights dialed in just right.

The rear sight comes "loose" from the factory. I have heard of several people who have had it fall out entirely. Beware... It happened to me too.

All in all, she's a good gun.

I really wanted a DA .22, and this is the only reasonably priced one I could find out there. The DA pull is pretty stiff, but put about 1500 rounds thru it and it will loosen up a bit. A bit. After that, maybe a gunsmith would help, but get it broken in first.

It is accurate once you get the sights set correctly. I'm going bunny hunting later this weekend with it. Lookout, thumper!

I really like mine.

I have a blued 5" 22lr and it's really great revolver. I changed the trigger return spring with one from Wolff, and I cut one coil from the hammer spring. I put empty cases in it and dry fired it a few hundred times, and now it's really ver nice. The rear sight thing made me crazy until I realized the srews are not tight from the factory, and now it's a real tackdriver!
Got some Colibri rounds for indoor shooting, and it's now my mouse/squirrel killer over the airguns.
BTW: I have successfully shot .22 mag from this gun, although it's supposedly a big no-no. This is the same frame as the model 85 .38 special, and I figure I'm not hurting anything. I shot all nine rounds with no ill effect. The cylinder is plenty long enough, and you can fire CBs, shorts, and long rifle out of this thing accurately to 15 yards or so. Match 22lr ammo gives sub 2" groups at 25 yds.

I think the reason the .22mag model can shoot the mags is because it is 8-shot. The cylinder walls are thicker.

The .22lr has extremely thin cylinder walls. I'm not gonna try any magnums in mine...

My $0.02. Won't even buy you a .22LR round...:p

I've got one of the model 94's w/ a 2" barrel. Decent little gun but I had to replace the hammer spring due to light strikes.

Regarding .22Mag in .22lr, the cartridge shouldn't fit. Steveracer, were those possibly CCI "Mini-mags" (.22lr) that you are calling ".22 mag"?

Re Taurus 94 22LR

Hi
I have the model 94 with the 2" barrel. So far about 500 rounds through it and no problems.

Wow. I'm suprised there are so many problems with this gun. Does anyone know how long they've been making this model, a couple of years I'm guessing?? Is there a simple screw that you tighten to tighten down the sight?

2 screws, actually. Whenever you move left or right you loosen one and tighten the other.

A lot of people (I guess) think it is a click adjuster and only loosen one, thinking it ratchets horizontally. You gotta tighten the other, though, too.

Other than that, the DA pull is really strong from the factory. The SA pull is good, though. Give it 1000-1500 rounds to break in, and it sweetens up a bit.

Per hapsI'm missing something, How do you get 22 Magum shells to fit into a 22 Long Rifle cylinder?? Perhaps you mean you've shot 22 high verlocity out of your .22 LR revolver but not .22mag.

I have a 94 Ultra-Lite in 2" that I bought just recently. I purchased it primarily to have an inexpensive means of practicing with a 2" snubbie. I often carry a Smith 637 .38 snubbie. I've only had it to the range once so far and I put about 300 rounds through it then. So far at least, I am very well pleased with the weapon. It's as accurate as any snubbie revolver I've ever shot, and I certainly had no problems with the sights or any other mechanical part of the revolver. In fact, it shot to point of aim right out of th box.

I have a 941 in 22mag isn't to bad a little gun can't say I shoot it much. There is no way A 22mag will fit in a 22LR the case is wider and longer, but just to see what would happen I shot the LR in the 941.Most did fire the group was about 18 inches at 15 yards, but the cases came out in pretty bad shape most were expanded and some split and were hard to get out.At least two of the 8 didn't fire from a poor hit by the firing pin:eek:

I have a 4" 94 and like it. No mechanical problems other than the trigger being pretty heavy. The Pachmayr grip I ordered came in the mail today, and I like it even more now. Fit of the grip along the backstrap isn't quite as precise as I'd like, but it fills my hand better.

TR1-ALS(Model 85 grip is the one that also fits the Model 94)

I also have a 2" 94ul. bought it to pratice with for my 85ul. the trigger was way heavy to the point it wasnt fun to shoot. ordered wolff springs that fit the 85 (wolff does not reccomend or have a spring kit for the 94). The spring kit for the 85 turned out to be too light...2 or three light strikes....no bang.Switched the hammer spring out for the factory 85 spring in the 94. Now a very sweet trigger and no light strikes after 500 rounds. fun to shoot. Now i just have to find another factory spring for the 85.
