Help!!
I have a question. In terms of S & W terminology, is the Taurus M605 a J-frame, or a K-frame????????

The 605 is my favorite taurus Revolver. The M-85 is the equivolent in size of the S&W Chief's Special and Air-weights. The 605 is just a beefed up 85. I don't know about J's, K's, and L's other than that they are letters of the alphabet. But it's a good gun, and I'll get one eventually too.

Ben,
Thanks.
The reason that I wanted to know was I needed to get a good holster. I was using a very cheap Unkle Mikes soft nylon rig that had lost it's shape. Most holsters for small revolvers are sized in terms S&W. Anyway, I ended up with a Bianchi Accumold. It fits this baby like a glove!! :) :) :)

I owned the 605 until I bought a M85. I believe the 605 and the M85 are the same size except the 605 has a 1/4 longer barrel. I've seen comparisons between the 85 and S&W J frames, and I've also compared the two side by side. I believe the Taurus is the same size as the original Chief's Special. I think the current crop of Centennial's and Bodyguards are about an 1/8 inch smaller. They are very close in size. As far as holsters go, the Taurus will not fit into some holsters made for Smith's because of the ejector shroud. The shroud makes the barrel thicker from top to bottom. Other than that I would expect holsters to be interchangable.
