Taurus judge public defender polymer?

Try the search on the tool bar at the top of the forum. Lots of past reviews. The usual Taurus bashers, along with the "It's a gimmick, a 410 couldn't possibly be a serious SD weapon" crowd are well represented along with many who actually own one, and am happy with it!

I have the Judge PD in all metal though not the poly. Was suprised at the accuracy of the 45colt rounds. At 15 to 20 yards I shoot is about the same as my Ruger Balckhawk 4 5/8' barrel. It is not as accurate as my 7.5" Vaquero, but for a snubnose it is more impressive than most people who have not shot one will tell you.

I acutally have not shot any 410 out of it yet. My favorite caliber to reload is 45 colt and I got this out of curosity and to be a range gun. The fit and finish on it is very good. Lock up is nice. The trigger on it is actually better than my only other DA (a ruger sp101).

As far as the poly goes. I looked at one when I got this one. The model I held in person was disappointing in the finish department. The poly had rough edges and seams and just looked and felt cheap. May not be that way on of of them though, because I think they look good in all the pics I have seen.

ive shot an all metal PD and it was very nice. trigger was smooth and recoil was very manageable. i cant understand why 410 wouldnt be good for SD, if I was peppered in the face with birdshot, Im fairly certain it would make me stop whatever im doing.

Yeah but its better to kill than to maim in the courts eye. Birdshot may only serve to disfigure someone if shot in the face. You shoot to kill if you are defending your life or your family's lives.

That said 410 buckshot or a slug should be more than sufficient.

I'm a Smith 6-shooter man thru and thru with the Judge being the one non-S&W in my handgun arsenal. I like the fact that they make a model that chambers 3" shells.

Man I didn't do enough research on them before I bought it or I would have gotten the 3 in chamber. I really wanted the polymer frame and I don't think they make it with a 3 in.

I have no regrets about my PD Poly, and it's 2 1/2" chamber. I think there isn't that much difference with one extra buckshot, or a few more snake pellets.
For my intended purpose I'd just as soon have the smaller, lighter gun.

I've been thinking about one of these for a while. I think I would choose the 3" chamber. I really don't think the Poly would make that much difference because I see this gun as a open/woods carry type of weapon, so I don't see the weight thing as an issue.Coogs.

I've been wanting one of these since I got the Protector Polymer in 38 special. I have been pleasantly surprised with it and it may have a big brother soon.
